A redesign of Safecity, a platform that crowdsources personal reports of sexual violence in public spaces. For our redesign, we wanted to tailor it for the University of Washington (UW) student community as well as the UW Police Department to see this application could suit the needs of a college campus.
PROBLEM STATEMENTS
1. SIGN UP section was cluttered
2. TAB BAR was not fit for our needs
3. SETTINGS section was difficult to navigate to
4. RESOURCES were absent from the app
UW COLORS
The UW's Purple and Gold are the school's primary colors with a white and black being a part of its secondary palette
REDESIGN
SIGN UP PAGE - through our redesign, we limited ourselves to only one sign up page and decluttered
NEW TAB BAR - we decided to replace its sections with REPORTS, RESOURCES, and SETTINGS. This solved not only our problems but has made our app more user friendly as all information is easily accessible.
